This and That....

I've had so much fun tonight, surfing knitting blogs. I'm learning a lot and finding out the titles of good knitting books, and even a recipe for oxtail soup! Who knew?! Did you know that an oxtail is really just a cow's tail? I didn't. I thought it was the tail of an ox. I wasn't too sure how one finds an ox'es tail, but heah you never know! Anyway, I love surfing blogs. Can ya tell? One of these days I'll leaarn how to add links to my blog, and then I can let you visit what I visit!

I've never gotten into quilting because I know myself; I'm obsessive-compulsive when it comes to material...and quilting requires only small amounts of material so that would mean I could buy and buy and buy those Fat Quarters, right? And they would add up. And then I'd have a stash of them to figure out where to put them....no. Not me. Not now anyway.

Here's today's Words of Wisdom.....

The best reason NOT to hold a grudge is it doesn't leave your hands free for anything else!!

Have a lovely day! And thanks for dropping by....

Er....Knitters can run into trouble too. When my grandmother died there were bags and bags of yarn of all kinds up in her attic.

As for me, I've got the fabric bug. My grandmother had bolts. My mother has chestfuls, and I've got it everywhere.

Knitting blogs and yarn stashes! Two of my favorite things.

No I didn't know that about the oxtail.
It's like I didn't know birds nest soup was made with bird spit.

Adding links is easy.
When you have your post in blogger highlight a word associated with the link you want people to visit and on the tool bar there is a tab you hit to open the box where you put the url.
You should be totally confused by now. :)
Have a nice day.

Oh -- and I thought she meant sidebar links -- and those are very confusing. (Word has it that Beta Blogger will make all that stuff easier for us novices)

Fabric? Well, I used to be the queen of making baby quilts, but since the divorce, I just don't have time. I figure when the kids are older, there's lots of projects I'd like to do. But I do need to shrink the collection. Of both yarn and fabric. Have a lot of "vintage" stuff and am thinking that might bring in some much needed cash on ebay. The other stuff might be useful for the kids' school theater department.

Of course, as soon as I get rid of it all, the kidlings will have some school or holiday project in which I'll wish I had a free bolt of beige lining fabric.....

I am totally addicted to knitting. If I could just knit, read, and blog all day I would be happy. Stupid work always gets in the way of my fun! I am going to start a pair of thrummed mittens soon (wish me luck). What are you working on now?
While you were surfing, I am sure you visited the Yarn Harlot (didn't you?) She is my favorite. Check her out at: http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/
